Monte’ Hemiya Edward Gandy

1976 - 2013

— On Monday, September 27, 1976, a beautiful, baby boy was born to Arjane Alexander and Johnny Lee Gandy, Sr. They named him Monte' Hemiya Edward.

In his early years, Monte' attended Carter G. Woodson School in Tullahassee, Oklahoma. He also attended Thunderbird Youth Academy, where he graduated High School in 1994.

Monte' was baptized at an early age and united with Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Vanzelen Brown. Monte' enjoyed living life. He loved music, cars, driving, fishing, helping others and being with family and friends. He also liked to look good, definitely smelling good and of course, eating good. Monte' enjoyed making cars look good as well. He was an entrepreneur, working as a detail technician.

On October 27, 2013, Monte' was called home to be with the Lord. Preceding him in transition; his grandmother, Maxine R. Alexander; a special uncle, Overton-Earnest [O.E.] Alexander; his grandfather, James "Pops" Ross; and his brother, Rodney D. "Daddy D" Gandy.

He leaves to cherish his memory; two daughters, Mercedes and Megan Brown; two sons, Braylen Gandy and Wetezz Lola Clayton; his loving mother, Arjane Alexander; his father/his partner, Johnny Lee Gandy, Sr.; his grandmother, whom he deeply cherished, Evelyn Ross; his grandfather, Moses Alexander, Sr.; his brothers, Vincent, Johnny Jr. [Rhonda], DeWayne, Darryl "Cat Daddy" [NaNa], John Mark, Seneca, Jon-Jon and Tabco [Chris]; his sisters, Aingel [Earnest], Josie [Blacky], Alexis [Beda], LeWeiser, Tammy, Alicia, Courtney, Taylor, Dana, Kera and Vickie; and a special sister-in-law, Stacey. He also leaves to lament his passing, special friends, Miesha Gunn, Alden Staraks, Carnell Brooks and Tyrone Pierce; along with a caravan of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and friends.

The Final Hour will be shared on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Haskell. Pastor Henry McVay, Jr., will officiate and Pastor Vernell Racy will give the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Haskell City Cemetery.
