John Joe Magnino

1927-2013


— John Joe Magnino left his earthly life Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Clarehouse Tulsa at the age of 86 after a long illness.

John was born in Bethel, Oklahoma on March 21, 1927. He graduated from Bethel School in 1945. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he returned to Oklahoma, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He was married to the late Betty (nee Gauntt) from 1948 until her death in 1973. He married Barbara Harris (nee Beck) in 1982, enjoying a happy marriage for the past 31 years.

John spent his entire professional career with Oklahoma Natural Gas, serving as District Operating Manager in Muskogee, as well as other positions in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. He was an active member of Cedar Ridge Christian Church. He enjoyed golf, Sudoku, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends. John often devoted his time in service to others and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and church community.

John was predeceased by his parents, Toney and Anna, his brother, Toney, and his first wife, Betty. John is survived by his wife “my wonderful darlin,” Barbara, children Janice (Gary) Wilson, Steve (Marsha) Magnino , Scott (Karen) Magnino, Leigh Ann (Paul) Craig, Trenna (Joe) Pester, Shawn (Lori) Harris, grandchildren Greg (Yvette) Wilson, Bennett Magnino, John Magnino, Abigail (Paul) Kasky, Ted (Kristina) Forbes, Kate Craig, Erin Craig, Faith (Adam) Kuykendall, Kristen (Kyle) Henry, Holly Harris, Kylee Hurt and Cooper Harris. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren. In addition to his loving family, John was blessed to have many friends.

A funeral service honoring John’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Nov 14th at Cedar Ridge Christian Church, 4010 West New Orleans St, Broken Arrow. Viewing will be held from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Nov 13th at Floral Haven, 6500 S. 129 E. Ave, Broken Arrow. Family will be present to receive visitors from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
