Wayne E. VanBrunt

1944-2013

— Wayne E. VanBrunt, age 68, died February 21, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Pryor to his parents on November 6, 1944. His family moved to Muskogee, where he graduated from Central High School in 1962. Later, he and Lynda were married July 2, 1965. Wayne worked in the oil and gas industry in Houston and Tulsa, and made lifelong friends throughout a successful career. After his retirement, he served as a consultant for the F.W. Murphy Company.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Jo; daughters, Shere Jo Hovis and husband Ken of Dallas, TX, Karen Sherwood and husband Paul of Hulbert, OK; grandson; Brandon Marshall Hovis and wife Christa; granddaughter, Kenzie Jo Hovis; brother, Charles VanBrunt and wife Carol; sister, Sharon Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. and Lucille VanBrunt.

 A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., at the Chandler Road Church of Christ in Muskogee, OK with Mr. Don Branscum and Mr. Bill Tibbles officiating.

 In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society 4110 S. 100th East Ave, Tulsa, OK 74146-3629.

 Arrangements are under the direction of Bradley Funeral Service.
