David Eugene Jenkins


David passed away on August 31, 2013.  David was born March 13, 1950 in Clarksville, Oklahoma  to Bessie and Henry Jenkins.  David attended Porter Schools.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1974.  David was a heavy equipment operator, welder and a fence builder.  He built many miles of fence around Cashing and Checotah, Oklahoma.

David was the youngest of eight children.  He is preceded in death by a sister Vera Mae Todd, a brother Johnnie Lee Jenkins and his parents Bessie and Henry, he is survived by two sons Jackie and Jerry of Kingfisher.  Brother James and Carrie of San Bruno California, William and Leila of Checotah, Sisters Betty Moss of Hulbert, Pat and Elmer Moss of Coweta, Ruth and Ernest Kelley of Porter.

Funeral Services for David will be at 10 a.m. Friday September 6, 2013 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.

Family request instead of flowers, to make donations to the Porter Free Will Baptist Church.

Special thanks to Billy Dean and family, Jackie Todd, and Bobby Moss for their friendship and dedication to David.

And a special “Good-bye” to his friends at the I-40 Country Store.

Burial will be under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
