Robert Garland Pierce

1953-2013

— Robert Garland Pierce, age 59, from Muskogee passed away July 10, 2013. Robert was born August 5, 1953 to John Franklin and Dorothy (Howard) Pierce in Vallejo, CA.

On November 19, 1976 Robert was united in marriage with his soul mate Jo Lynn (Marlow) in Muskogee. At the age of 17, early 1971, he joined the United States Marine Corps to proudly serve his country. Robert was full of life and enjoyed panning for gold, building motorcycles, collecting guns but most of all spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was retired from the City of Muskogee. Robert was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Muskogee, a lifetime member of ABATE of Oklahoma, and a lifetime member of GPAA.

Robert is preceded in death by Grandmother Gladys Lish; and Grandfather Garland Pierce. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memories his devoted wife and best friend of 37 years, Jo Lynn Pierce of the home; 6 children, Lyndsey Pierce of the home, Sean Pierce and wife Megan, Bobbi Jo Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Jason Marlow and wife Kari, Brian Fletcher and wife Sara, all of Muskogee; 11 grandchildren, Cole, Zachery, Ally, Leah, Traci, Sara, Emily, Jordon, Broc, Boone, Bret; father John Franklin Pierce and wife Beverly of Oceanside, CA; mother Dorothy Arnold of Muskogee; 2 brothers, Johnny Pierce of Oceanside, CA and Kenny Henshaw and wife Rhetta of Muskogee; 3 sisters, Judy Abbott and husband Rebel of Muskogee, Phoebe Pierce of Oceanside, CA, Jacqueline Morton and husband Herb of Kingwood, TX; and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday July 15, 2013 at New Hope Assembly of God Church, 110 W. 58th St. S.,  in Muskogee under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.
