Mary Elizabeth Murphy

1938 - 2013

— Mary Elizabeth Murphy was born November 15, 1938 in Muskogee the daughter of Odell and Georgia Elizabeth (Rae) Brown. She passed from this life on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 29 days.

Mary graduated from Muskogee High School in 1956. She enjoyed gardening, going to the lake, spending time in her swimming pool, and spending time with her granddaughter and two great grandsons. She was a charter member of Solace Church.

Her survivors include her mother, Georgia Brown of Muskogee; daughters, Kimm Coleman of Tulsa and Kelli Anne Murphy of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Glenda Greb and husband John and Dorothy Brantley and husband, Jack all of Ft. Smith, AR; granddaughter, Jennifer Blair and husband, Matt of Tulsa; great grandsons, Grady Lee and Graham Matthew Blair of Tulsa; and numerous cousins, other family members and friends including Joan Acosta, Phil Kingston, Debbie Bohanon and Melissa Whiteneck who were so helpful the last several months of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Odell Brown and a brother, Matt Brown.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Solace Church Building Fund.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Solace Church, 6607 W. 42nd St., Tulsa. Pastor Matt Blair will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
