1936 - 2013

Jesse Olen Yother passed from this life on May 2, 2013 at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, OK. He was born to Ben and Ruth Yother on June 12, 1936 in Paris, Arkansas.

Jesse is survived by his wife Anna of the home; father-in-law Robert Collins, of Lincoln, Arkansas; son Robert Yother and wife Pam, of Wilburton, OK; daughter Debbie Enis and husband Steve, of Vinita, OK; brother Ray Reed and wife Yvonne, of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Mildred Gouthier and husband Nolan of Port Arthur, TX, Sue Hicks and husband Sol of Bakersfield, CA; four grandchildren, Amy Watkins and husband Brad of Elk City, OK, Tiffany Thompson and husband Anthony of Muskogee, OK, Bryan Yother of Elk City, OK, Vickie Adams and husband Nate of Norman, OK; three great grandchildren, Jenna, Jack, and Jacey of Elk City, OK; close brother and sister-in-law Roger and Linda Brumfield of Montesano, WA; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Yother Reed, granddaughter Jennifer Enis, mother-in-law Frances Collins and brother Robert (Punjo) Reed.

Jesse was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Chandler Road in Muskogee where he served as an elder for a period of time. Jesse was also known to all of the children as the “Candy Man” and because of his love for children, we ask that in lieu of flowers to make donations in his honor to Hope Harbor Children’s Home in Claremore, OK.

He was a veteran of the Korean War. He met and married Anna Louise Collins on April 12, 1957 in Lincoln, Arkansas and recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

He had his own dental labs for 13 years, He was a pipe welder and also a licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing contractor. Jesse was a long time employee of the Hogle Company where he loved his job, his co-workers, and made many friends through the years.

Jesse was a fisherman in his earlier years and a die hard deer hunter in his latter years, where he loved the outdoors, even when sleeping in his deer stand!

He will be greatly missed by his large family, his dear friends, and many others he happened to meet.

The family will have a celebration of life memorial visitation on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral & Crematory in Muskogee, OK.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
