Henry G. Horton

1950 - 2013

Henry G. Horton, of Porum, Oklahoma, formerly of Tulsa, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the age of 63. He was born in Bremen Germany on February 22, 1950. In 1995, Henry and his parents, Oscar Horton and Marianne Manfeldt Horton came to Oklahoma and resided in Muskogee. He attended Muskogee Public Schools and graduated from Central High School with the class of ’68. After graduation, he became an optician, for which he worked for many years. Henry enjoyed camping and coin collecting.

He was married in early spring of 2013 to Margie Shipley in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Horton; the mother of his children, Ann Enkey; and wife, Johnnie Horton.

Henry is survived by his mother, Marianne Horton of Tulsa; his brother, John Horton of Tulsa; his son, Brett Horton of Muskogee; his daughter, Cindy Haughey and husband, Bryan of Muskogee; his stepson, Dwayne Smith of Catoosa; his grandson, Cody Howard of Muskogee; his granddaughters, Miranda Horton of Glenpool, Makenzi Haughey of Muskogee; and his wife, Margie Shipley of Porum; other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Henry will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee with Gary Carter, Ronnie Pease, Cody Howard, Monte Anderson, Jason Clark, and Brett Horton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Haughey and Bryan Haughey.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at
