Larry Gene Walker

1953 - 2014

Funeral services for Larry Gene Walker, 60, of Muskogee, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 7, 2014 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel with Grover Tillman officiating. Burial will be in Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay, OK.

One of eight children, Larry was born September 13, 1953 at Muskogee, OK, the son of Eugene and Melvina (Helsley) Walker and left this world on April 2, 2014 to start his new journey with his Lord in Heaven.

He worked locally at NFI Inc. as a fork lift driver and always took on the tasks of work head on. He will leave many friends from his job. Larry spent a life time making friends and enjoying family. He will be missed by all who knew him and whose life he touched. Larry loved to flash that little shy smile that said to the world that something had just crossed his mind. He enjoyed playing his guitar, hunting, fishing with family, and being with friends. Mostly he loved the land and being around the country life he shared with the Tillman and Meeks families.

Survivors include his sister, Shirley Kay Butler; brother, Wayne Walker; his soul mate, Gala Mixon; step-son, Harold Meeks; many nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Landrum, Ruth Ousley; three brothers, James Walker, Leon Walker, and Billy Walker; step-son, Howard Meeks; and longtime companion, Marie Meeks.
