William “Bill” Allen Oman Sr.

1945-2014

William “Bill” Allen Oman Sr., 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 in Muskogee.  He was born October 17, 1945 in Muskogee to Clyde Oman Sr. and Grace Gibbs Oman.  Bill grew up in Muskogee where he attended Irving School, Alice Robertson School, and Central High School.  He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from which he received an Honorable Discharge.

Bill's hobbies included spending time on the golf course and bowling.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Johnny Charles Oman, James Paul Oman, and David Oman; his sister, Rosemary Oman; and his son-in-law, Randy Rehn.  

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; his son, William “Billy” Oman Jr.; his daughters, Danielle Hathaway and husband, Brian of Okay, RaeLynn Rehn of Broken Arrow; his grandchildren, Breana Hathaway, Allie Hathaway, both of Okay, Megan Rehn and Elizabeth Bellah, both of Broken Arrow; his brothers, Clyde Oman Jr. of Tulsa, Jerry Oman and wife, Shirlene, Steve Oman, all of Muskogee; his sisters, Pat Davis, Linda Rozelle and husband, James, and Karen Duke, all of Muskogee; his mother-in-law, Florene Andrews; his brothers-in-law, Dwight Andrews and wife, Alice, Lanny Andrews and wife, Sue, special sister-in-law and sidekick, Nancy Cowan, and her husband, John Jr.; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Bill will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Underwood officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Brian Hathaway, Bryan Bellah, John Cowan III, Jonathan Andrews, Jerry Oman, and Gary L. McElmurry serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearer will be his son, William “Billy” Oman Jr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be made to the family online @www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com.
