Michael “Mike” Mauldin, 62, of Wagoner, died Thursday, July 4th, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital due to complications from an auto accident. He was born October 31, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Homer E. and Dorothy Tincup Mauldin.
Mike was a 1968 graduate of East Central High School in Tulsa. He continued his education on a swimming scholarship at the University of Arkansas receiving a bachelors degree in Finance and business.
He served as a communication specialist in the United States Army Reserves from 1975 to 1977. He married Deborah Sue Alexander in Aug, 1970. Together they had 3 daughters; Jennifer Moore and husband Robert of Rogers, AR. Their three children Michael, Abby, and Emily. Beth Parker and husband Matt of Edmond, OK. Their children Cole and Annabeth. Andrea Hall and her two children Dylan and Philly.
After 30 years of marriage, he was proceeded in death by his wife Deborah.
In Sept, 2002, Mike married Karen Hughes-Mauldin and made his home in Wagoner. She survives him, along with his step-children; Missy Lasater and husband Mike of Wagoner, their children Hunter, Boone, and Meridy. Josh Hughes and wife Candice of Wagoner, their children Bear and Remmi. Jacob Hughes and wife Suzanne of Wagoner and son Brock.
Mike attended First Baptist Church of Wagoner. He retired in 2007 from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Muskogee. He enjoyed attending his 13 grandkids activities, watching sports, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, July 9 at 1:00 at First Baptist Church of Wagoner. A private graveside burial is planned on Monday July 8 at Floral Haven Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory in Wagoner, Oklahoma
