1928 - 2013

— Mickey (Mittie Lou) Ryan, 84 of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Mickey was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Nicholas and Hazel Bryan on December 7, 1928. She went to high school at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated in 1947. She worked in Food Services for Muskogee Regional Medical Center for 20 years. Her passion was gardening and this is when she felt closest to God. She also enjoyed working puzzles, and spelling bees. She received numerous awards when she was competing in local spelling bees for seniors.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, James Nicholas and Hazel Burkhart, siblings Helen Speer, James Nicholas, Jr., and Orville Burkhart, and husband of 45 years, Floyd G. Ryan, Sr.

Mickey is survived by her siblings, Richard Nicholas and Carol Burkhart; her children, Butch and Diane Bales of Dover, Delaware, Patsy and William Perceful, and Floyd, Jr. and Jana Ryan, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Steven and Kelly Ryan, Brian and Amanda Perceful, Dean and Shawna Bales, Calvin and Denice Bales, Clint and Misti Ryan, Jeremy Perceful, Nick Ryan, Cori Ryan and fiancée Jason Raus; 15 great-grandchildren and special friends, Betty Young, Ray Bryant, and Bluie Mayes.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Good Neighbor Hospice and Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center for their compassionate and attentive care of our beloved Mickey and our family.

Visitation will be at Foster-Petering Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be in Fosters’ Ivory Chapel at Foster-Petering Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
