Nancy Fisher

1945 - 2013

Ms. Nancy Fisher, age 68 and a resident of Fort Gibson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, June 23, 2013, surrounded by her loving family members in the comfort of her home.

Nancy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 7, 1945 to Lee and Pat Nichwander. She attended Catholic School until the 11th grade and graduated from Chamberlin High School in Tampa, Florida. She also attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Nancy had a heart of gold. She loved people and lived her life giving to all people. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She loved life, singing, dancing and laughing, as well as spending time with her precious dogs. Words cannot express how much her family loved her. There is peace knowing that we will see her again. Her memory will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold and her sisters, Carol and Ellen.

Remaining to reflect and remember; her three children, Donna, Joe and Deborah; her son-in-law, Dean; her grandchildren, Kelly, Misty, Angela, Tony, Michael, Patsy, Holly, Nancy and Kendra; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends who loved her very much.

On Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 5:00 PM, a Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Fort Gibson Dam, the place she loved. It will be at the park with a potluck / cookout [her favorite thing] according to her wishes. All are welcomed and the family asks that you come as you are.

On Friday, July 5, 2013 at 6:00 PM, a Celebration of her life will be held at Fireside Church in Kiefer, and again, all are welcome to come as you are and shared in the Memorial Ceremony.
