Melba Rhea Tripp

1923 - 2013

Funeral services for Melba Rhea Tripp, 89, of Muskogee, OK, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 28, 2013 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Van Barkley officiating.

Melba, the oldest of three children, was born November 19, 1923 in Scottsville, near Dover, AR, the daughter of Charles Perry “C.P.” and Eval (Jenkins) Johnson and died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at her home in Muskogee after a long battle with cancer.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents, C.P. and Eval Johnson; brother, Andrew Johnson; sister, Evalee Wood; two grandsons, Randy Tripp and Bobby “Little Bobby” Tripp Jr; and husband of 68 years, Elden “Pa” W. Tripp. Survivors include her three sons, Wayne and wife, Jackie, Larry and wife, Tonya, all of Muskogee, Bobby and wife, Vicky, of Porum, OK; two adopted daughters, Samantha of Checotah and Sarah from Muskogee; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Kenny Wood and wife, Pauline, and their daughter Corrine “Corky”, from Phoenix, AZ; special friend and companion, Don Sheppard; boss and good friend, Bob Stone; numerous friends and other family members. She will be missed by all.
