Dannie Lee Byrum

1946 - 2013

— Dannie Lee Byrum, 66, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 in Muskogee.  He was born December 11, 1946 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Leon Eugene Byrum and Sara Jane Smith Byrum.  Dannie graduated from Okay High School with the class of 1964.  He was married on May 13, 1977 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Debbie Kay Dunham. Dannie worked for Acme Engineering from which he retired in 2010 after 42 years of service. Dannie was an avid golfer and OU football fan as well as a former member of the Transportation Club of Tulsa.  He loved watching westerns, horse racing, and reading any book by Louis L’Amour.  He enjoyed attending Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Muskogee.  

Dannie was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Henry Byrum and Bill Byrum.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie, of the home; his children, Angie Henry and husband, Tracy, Michael Byrum and wife, Michele, Robin Ross and husband, Jeremy, all of Muskogee, Amanda Brossett and husband, Rob of Katy, TX.; his grandchildren, Kyle Henry, Megan Woodard, Alexis Brossett, Kierstyn Hubnick, Kaitlynn Foltz, Sophie Brossett, Luke Brossett, Michael Byrum, and Ethan Byrum; his great grandchildren, Wiley Henry, Reilynn Lomeli, and Kylee Henry; his sisters, Regina Eatmon, Sharon Lay, and Sheila Boyce, all of Muskogee; several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Dannie will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Crow officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Dolan Argo, Harold Maddox, Craig Emmons, Dave Shelton, John Hansen, and Harold Stark serving as pallbearears.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com
