Dorothy Mae “Dot” Parker

1951 - 2013


— Dorothy “Dot” Parker was born July 1st, 1951 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to William “Sug” and Hazel “Muck” Robinson Bellamy.

She accepted the Lord into her life in 1981, and was added to the body of Christ at the Logan Street Church of Christ. On Friday May 10, 2013, God called her to be with him.

On December 1st, 1977, Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Earl Parker, Sr. and to this union were four children. She worked for many years at Luby’s Cafeteria until their closing. After Luby’s closing she worked at Hilldale Elementary School Cafeteria until her call from labor to rest.

The family who went home before her were her parents, three brothers and sisters. One sister-in-law and one brother-in-law and her oldest son, Gregory Parker. The family she leaves to cherish their fond memories of her include her loving husband of the home, Earl Parker Sr., three sons, Earl Nelson (Catherine) Chattanooga, TN, Andre’ and Earl “PJ” Parker, Jr. both of Muskogee, OK, five grandchildren, Erica, Taylor, Chloe, Dreylon and Nadia, three sisters, Catherine Vance, Myrtle Beach, SC, Ruby Williams, (Gilbert), Oklahoma City, OK and Carol Washington, Miami, FL. Three brothers, Major Bellamy, Virginia Beach, VA, Johnny Bellamy and Richard Bellamy (Evelyn), both of Myrtle Beach, SC, three sisters-in-law,  Gerri Clayton (Ollie) Belleville, IL, Alice Millender and Lillian Washington, both of Madison, IL, 2 brothers-in-law, Raynard Parker and Sterling Harrell and mother-in-law, Clementine Parker, all Madison, IL along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Homegoing services for “Dot” will be held Saturday, May 18th, 2013, 11 a.m. at West Side Church of God with Minister Dan Readhimer, officiating. She will be laid to rest on Monday, May 20th, 11 a.m. in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Visitation hours are today from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Ragsdale Funeral Center.
