Wyvette Marie Jackson

1956 - 2013

It was on the 23rd of February in 1956, that I was born to Forrest Harris Jackson and Ethel (Berry) Jackson, and on May 12, 2013,  was the day of my home going. I was the second of six children born to that union. I was lovingly named Wyvette Marie Jackson, but to everyone that would come to know me, I was affectionately known simply as “Y”.

I was raised in Muskogee and my parents made sure my siblings and I were raised to know the Lord. I professed my love and belief in Him at an early age and was baptized at Rayfield Baptist Church by Rev. T.L. Turner.

I attended Douglas Elementary School and then Alice Robertson Jr. High and finally Muskogee High School where I was a proud graduate with the class of 1974.  In Jr. High School I developed a passion for cheerleading. I loved being a cheerleader and I remained one long after a graduation. I was always the biggest cheerleader for my friends and family throughout my adult years; I just loved to see people reach their goals and reach their dreams. I attended the University of Oklahoma from 1974 thru 1977. I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. I would attend events with my camera ready to commemorate milestones.

The family members that preceded me into eternal life were: my parents, Rev. Forrest Jackson & Mrs. Ethel Jackson and my sister, Mrs. Marilyn Beasley. Those that I leave behind for now are: My twin daughters, Kenya and Khadija and son Keon; all three of the home ;My Siblings, Donald (Athalene) Jackson; Muskogee, OK, Darlene (Everret) Gomez; Saugus, CA, Michael Jackson and Derrick Jackson both of Muskogee, OK.  My nieces, Donnella (Terry); Carla (Rickey); Kenisha (Anthony); Jessica and Ebony. My nephews, Tyrone, Kenneth Jr., Kendall, Kendrick, Nicholas and Michael. I leave my great-aunt Bernice Castleberry of Bakersfield, CA; a special cousin, Annie Mae Black and a host of beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Services will be at Harvest Ministries Church, 2200 E. Okmulgee St, Muskogee with Rev. Lester Beasley; Gracious Host, and Rev. Don E Dumas officiating. Visitation hours are today from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ragsdale Funeral Center.
