Norma Josephine “Jo” Forkner of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born on September 26, 1921 in McAlester, Oklahoma to William Salmon and Amy Webb Salmon. Norma grew up in McAlester where she graduated from high school. She met and later married Jack William Forkner. They made their home in McAlester where she was a homemaker caring for their four children. Jo and Jack moved to Eufaula Lake in 1972 and later settled in Muskogee.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jack; daughter, Marilyn Cary; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Faith of Muskogee, Brenda Tinker of Jenks; son, Lee Forkner of Muskogee; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Jo will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delbert Hawpe officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in McAlester with Blake Woods, Kyle Woods, Ethan Caywood, J.J. Cary, Brody Edwards, and Lane Bradley serving as pallbearers.
