Ruby Jane Cavins

1934 – 2013

Ruby Jane Cavins passed away May 18, 2013 peacefully in her sleep.   

She was born July 7, 1934 to C.W. and Margie Mae Shahan in Muskogee OK.  Ruby worked for Corning Glass Co. for 18 years.  She loved bowling, country music, and gardening.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilburn Shahan and Harold Shahan; four sisters, Alice Crittenden, Dorthy Houston, Faye Gorbitt, and Lillie Mae “Penny” Moss; daughter, Debra Jean Landers; and grandchildren, Collin and Sara Smart.

She is survived by her two sons, John and Lucia Raney of Las Vegas, NV., and Jerry Raney of Muskogee; two sisters, Betty and Thomas Cloud of Amarillo, TX., and Louise and Red Barkley of Wichita, KS.; one brother, Lee and Cherry Shahan of Muskogee; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Beaver, Stephanie Galliton, Kasey Gioletti, Jamie Widger, Janay Dlabaj, Joshua Raney, Jeremy Raney, and Molly Morris; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Ruby will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Rev. Gene Raney and Rev. Jimmy Cagle officiating.  

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com
