Robert Kenneth Lowrey

1930 - 2013

Robert Kenneth Lowrey of Fort Gibson, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 after a two year bout with cancer. He was born in Montebello, California, but lived most of his adult life in Oklahoma. Robert married Virginia White in 1955 and was married until her death in 1982. He later married Billye Campbell in 1984.

 Robert attended South Ridge Baptist Church and was a kind, loving husband, father, and loved being a great-grandfather.  After Robert retired from a career as a master sheet metal worker, he moved from Tulsa and bought farmland where he and his dear friend, Bud Stubbs, spent many hours “working the land”.  He will be missed very much.

 Robert was preceded in death by his youngest son, Tim Lowrey; parents, Bob and Ella Lowrey; sister, Edna Chaikoff; and infant granddaughter, Virginia Rose Lowrey.  He is survived by his wife, Billye; beloved brother, Bill; sons, Terry Lowrey and wife, Robin, and Rock Lowrey; grandchildren, Ashley Withers, Amy Brooke Muir, April Stevenson, Myriah Lowrey, and Braxton Lowrey; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Lowrey, Claire Stevenson, Raylan Muir, Hailey and William Withers.

 Funeral services for Robert will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Mr. David White officiating. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery.
