Anna Clair Anthis Brennan

1929 - 2013

Anna Clair Anthis Brennan was born to Ernest and Elizabeth Anthis on July 6, 1929 in Muskogee OK, and departed this life on May 15, 2013 in Muskogee OK.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers:  Ernest (JuJu) Anthis, Jr. Louis Anthis, Edward Anthis, and Robert Anthis.

Anna attended Monticello Preparatory School, obtained her Pilot’s license, attended Vassar College, and the University of Oklahoma where she completed her course work for a Masters in Political Science and Sociology.  She was an active member and alumni of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

Anna was married to Colonel John W. Brennan in the Chapel at West Point Military Academy. Together they lived around the country and world and had four children:  John W. Brennan, Jr. of Muskogee OK; Robert Sean Brennan of Kingwood, TX; Michael Francis Brennan of Washington D.C., and Elizabeth Ann Newton who preceded her in death.

She is loved and remembered by her surviving children and grandchildren:  Robert Sean Brennan, Jr., Robin Elizabeth (Beth) Brennan, Catherine Leigh (Cat) Brennan, John Louis Brennan, Shelby Elizabeth Brennan, Kaitlin Michelle Brennan, John William (Trey) Brennan, III, Anna Kathleen (Katy) Brennan, and Anna Claire Brennan, as well as her great grandchild, William Allen Walker, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Anna’s life at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with Reverend Greg Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family has entrusted Bradley Funeral Service of Muskogee with the arrangements. Those who wish may send the family a condolence at the website
