Juanita May Wilson

1932 - 2012

— Funeral services for Juanita May Wilson, 80, of Wagoner were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Muskogee with Bishop Guy Grooms and Brother Rodney Mickelson officiating.

Juanita was born Feb. 2, 1932 in Wagoner, OK to her parents, Earl and Rose (Rogers) Price. At a young age she helped as a bookkeeper for her family’s business, the Wagoner County Community Sale/ Livestock Auction in Southeast Wagoner.  On Sept. 21, 1948 Juanita was united in marriage to Edsel Walling. She was a homemaker and mother until she returned to school earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northeastern State University. She began her career as an educator, teaching in Bristow Public Schools and Creek and Okmulgee Counties. Juanita later owned and operated a resale shop near Wagoner.  She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Muskogee serving as their librarian for several years.  Juanita passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 6 at her home in Wagoner.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edsel Walling; her son, Eddy Walling and Howard Wilson; her brothers, Chester Price and Alvin Price; her sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Price and a brother-in-law, Richard Murphy. She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Jane Walling of the home and Rosanna Holman and her husband, Jim of Chouteau; grandchildren, Miranda Wilden and Edwin of Locust Grove; great-grandchildren, Kailey and Kensey Horner and Karder Wilden; a sister, Katy Murphy of Wagoner; a brother D.F. ‘Pete’ Price and Alice also of Wagoner; daughter-in-law, Sandra (Teague) Walling of Locust Grove; other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Michael Stevenson, Wilson Gonseth and Cal Asay. Memories and condolences for the family may be sent to Funeral arrangements and interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner were directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
