Morris William Fender

1944-2013

Morris William Fender was born November 3, 1944 in Hastings, Iowa to Morris Ward and Martha Bell (Ludington) Fender.  He passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas at the age of 69 years.  Morris served in the U. S. Army Reserve and retired from Arkhola Sand Gravel as a construction superintendent.  He was a very hard-working man and loved going to flea markets looking for a bargain.  He enjoyed welding and was an O.U., O.S.U. and Auburn football fan.

Morris is survived by his wife, Marsha Cannon Fender, of the home in Ft. Smith, Arkansas; daughter, Shelly Downs and husband William of Ft. Gibson; sons, Wade Fender of Florida and Marshall Fender of Cookson, Oklahoma; grandsons, Jeffrey Downs and wife Jessica of Muskogee and Chase Downs of Ft. Gibson; great grandson, Marshall Alexander Downs of Muskogee; brother, Martin Fender of Glenwood, Iowa and sisters, Marcia Vanderpool of Gray, Louisiana and Margo Bolton of Fall Creek, Wisconsin.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
