Hazel Orman Alexander

1923 - 2013

— Hazel Orman Alexander, 90, passed away on October 19, 2013 at her home, Country Gardens Assisted Living in Muskogee. Hazel was born February 19, 1923 in Braggs, to Arthur and Edna Hutchens.

Hazel retired from the Oklahoma School for the Blind. She worked in sales most of her life. Hazel and her husband, Hilton Orman Co-Owned Feeders Supply in Coweta. She worked at the Boston Store in Muskogee, and she could even be caught helping out occasionally at her daughter's insurance business.

Hazel was a member of Central Baptist church.

Hazel loved to Garage Sale, cook, and spend time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger. Before her illness she enjoyed participating in the daily activities with her friends at Country Gardens. She also enjoyed her part of the Bell Choir.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, Ruby, Vera, Carrie, Virginia and a brother Robert. 3 husbands, Hilton Orman, Ray Gilbert, and S.D. Alexander. 1 son, Roy Carlton Orman, 1 grandson, James Orman Jr.,  a son-in-law, David Richey and a daughter-in-law, Susan Alexander.

Hazel is survived by sister, Bernice and husband, Ray Orman. Her children, Johnnie and his wife Charlotte Orman, Lonnie and his wife Melba Orman, James and his wife Eva Orman, Hilda Richey, Harold and his wife Patsy Langton, Gene Alexander, 11 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 27 Great-Great Grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces and her extended family at Country Gardens.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at South East Baptist Church with Brother Doug Miller officiating. Following funeral services, Hazel will be laid to rest with her husband Hilton Orman at the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson.

Hazel's grandsons, Brock Orman, Tim Orman, Kevin Orman, Toby Orman, Allen Richey, Jarrod Pendley, and Lonnie Orman will serve as pallbearers.
