Ursula Helen I Fietze

1927-2013

Ursula Helen I Fietze was born October 11, 1927 to Pauline and Fritz Fietze in Goerlitz Germany.  She attended The Maria Ward College which she called the (English Sisters) and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and Education. Ursula moved to Australia then to San Francisco where she met the love of her life, Jesse (John) Shoats Jr. and they were married in 1963. She owned and operated a children's daycare for many years and touched the lives of many families who continued to correspond with her when she moved to Muskogee, Ok. Ursula was a member of the First Baptist Church in Summit, Ok and later, moved her membership to the Lutheran Church on East Broadway in Muskogee.  She was a member and an officer of the Garden Club, Red Hats, and Muskogee New Friends.

Her husband John; parents, Pauline and Fritz Fietze; brothers, Fritz Jr. and Horst; sisters, Helga Dorotha and Roswitha preceded her in death.

Ursula leaves to mourn her sister, Gerda; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; sisters in-law, Virginia and Bernadette Shoats; brothers in-law, Rene and Bernard Shoats of Muskogee, Ok.; stepsons, Mark and Jesse Shoats of California; very dear friends, Vernice Frazier of Muskogee, Ok and Margaret Harlan of Wisconsin.

A memorial service for Ursula will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Wayne Schuett officiating.  

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be made to the family online at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com
