Christina Olena Weddle

1922 - 2013

On November 28, 1922 Christina (Wilbourn) Weddle was born to Calvin and Cora (Lowrance) Wilbourn the second of six children. She passed from this life surrounded by her family on October 25, 2013 in Muskogee, OK, at the age of 90.

She played basketball for, and graduated from Wainwright schools. Later she worked at Kresses, Camp Gruber Commissary, and as the secretary of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for many years. She married Harold Weddle on June 15, 1952 and they had three children.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Harold; her parents; and her brother, C.R. She is survived by two daughters, Debra Bates and husband, Steve, of Porter, Sharon Berryman and husband, Roger, of Muskogee; son, David Weddle of Tulsa; three sisters, Colena Morgan, Cheryl Holland and Coreta Strickland; brother, Charlie Wilbourn; nine grandchildren, Chad Tanner, Travis Tanner, Chase Bates, Joshua Bates, Sarah Wallis, Elyse Dempsey, Elaina Murray, Karen Berryman, and Skyler Weddle; and twelve great-grandchildren, who were the greatest joy in her life.

She loved the Lord and her family, and there was never a mother, or grandmother loved more than she was.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Muskogee with Reverend Joe Strickland and Reverend Larry Lashley officiating. Grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Viewing will be Monday, October 28, 2013, at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery.
