Neta June “Bobbie” Howell

1934 - 2013

— Neta June “Bobbie” Howell passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Muskogee at the age of 78 years. 

She was born June 14, 1934 in Warner, Oklahoma to Coy and Dora (Cook) Merritt. She married Frank Lester Howell, Jr. on July 5, 1952. Being an army wife, she had the opportunity to live in Germany, Okinawa as well as several locations in the United States. Bobbie graduated from nursing school in 1978 as an LPN and worked for twenty years in nursing homes in Wagoner, Coweta and Muskogee.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Sue Bledsoe and Eris Martin and her brother, Gene Merritt.

Bobbie is survived by her sons, Mike Howell of Tulsa and Robert Howell and wife, Paula, of Cairo, Georgia; her daughter, Patty Rosson and husband, Gary, of Wagoner, Oklahoma and granddaughter, Cybil Blackwell and husband, Avery, of Okay, Oklahoma and great granddaughters, Aliza Belle and Cailey Mae Blackwell.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 18, 2013 in the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma with Doctor Wesley Graver officiating.

Arrangements and services are under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
