Cory Sylvester Logan

1985 - 2013

— Cory Sylvester Logan, in his 27th season of life, surrendered his soul on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from Muskogee.   

He was born May 1, 1985 to his parents, Alfred Dale and DeAnn [Patton] Logan. He was a happy and fun loving child as he grew up with his brothers under the loving care of his paternal grandparents, Adolph and Elvis Logan in Summit, Oklahoma.

He was baptized along with his brothers at the First Baptist Church of Summit, under Reverend Clarence Woodfork. Cory attended school in Oktaha, Oklahoma and graduated from High School in 2001. Later, he attended OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee. He loved sports and spent many fun loving hours playing basketball with his dad and brothers prior to Alfred, Sr.’s untimely death in 1997.

Preceding Cory in death were his father, Alfred Dale, his great-grandparents, Eugene and Agnes Logan, his grandmother, Louise Patton and his uncles, Gary and Raymond Patton.

A very special person in Cory's life was LaKenya Bryant, whom he cared for deeply and hoped to marry.   

Left to lament his death but celebrate his life;  his mother, DeAnn Logan, Muskogee; his brothers, Alfred Logan, Jr., and family, Summit, Oklahoma, Brian Logan [Marsalene] and family, Tulsa, Oklahoma;  his paternal grandparents, Adolph and Elvis Logan, Summit, Oklahoma; his uncle, Daryl “Sweet Papa” Logan, Summit, Oklahoma;  his aunt, Donna Taylor, Muskogee; and a large extended family including aunts, uncles, a caravan of cousins and a host of friends.

The Hour of Remembrance for Cory will be on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Summit. Rev. Charles N. Moore, Sr., Pastor will officiate and Rev. Clifford Beasley will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
