John Luke Dum

1995 – 2011

— John Luke Dum, 16, of Muskogee, died Saturday, December 3, 2011. He was born June 20, 1995 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Edward Dum, Jr. and Mary Ellen (Rhodes) Dum.

John enjoyed Tae-Kwon-Do and was Black Belt recommended. He played sax in the school band, enjoyed doing pottery, watching movies, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Dum, Sr. and Jean Dum; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Ozell Rhodes and step grandmother, Wilda Rhodes.

He is survived by his parents, James and Mary Dum of the home; sisters, Emily Dum and Caitlin Dum both of Oklahoma City; brothers, James Dum, III of Oklahoma City and Matthew Dum and his wife, Nicole, of Jacksonville, FL; aunts, Marian O’Rourke and Cyndy Clark both of Muskogee; uncles and their spouses, John and Bridget Rhodes of West Branson, MO, Terry and Janice Rhodes of Mustang, OK, Dan and Becky Rhodes of Okmulgee, OK, Jim and Jean Rhodes of Bella Vista, AR, George and Barbara Rhodes of Collinsville, OK and Tommy Rhodes of Yuma, AZ and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Knipe officiating.

Friends may wish to remember John by making memorials to the St. Joseph Youth Group, P.O. Box 189, Muskogee, OK 74402.

Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
