Henry Frank “Hank” Patocka

1924 - 2013

Henry Frank “Hank” Patocka, 89, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 16, 2013. He was born March 23, 1924 in Hennessey, Oklahoma to Frank Patocka and Anna Schovanec Patocka. Hank joined the United States Army serving in World War II as a Staff Sergeant. He later received an Honorable Discharge in February 1946. After returning home, Hank married Mattie Lou Holcomb on August 17, 1946. Hank and Mattie were blessed with twin daughters, Carolyn and Marilyn. He loved and cared for his family moving them to Muskogee so his girls could attend Oklahoma School for the Blind. He worked for Ford Dealerships until his retirement in 1984.

Hank was a member of the Azalea Church of Christ.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 33 years, Mattie Patocka; his sisters, Mary Maly, Anna Aten, Della Kokojon, Bea Goodpasture, and his brother, Malvan Patocka.

He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Patocka and Marilyn Patocka, both of the home; his brother-in-law, Laroy Goodpasture of Waukomis, OK; his sister-in-law, Kathy Patocka of Hennessey, OK; his special friends, Kenneth and Joyce Sellers and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family requests memorials be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd., Yorktown Heights, NY, 10598 or to Oklahoma School for the Blind, 3300 Gibson St., Muskogee, OK, 74403.

Funeral services for Hank will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Donnie Nero officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Stacks, Jim Risch, Keith Sellers, Jerry Dale Sellers, John Lathrop, and Jim Morris.
