— Douglas W. Killblane, 56 year old Checotah, resident passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2013 in Muskogee. He was born on Tuesday, March 26, 1957 to Wilbur and Joyce (Bell) Killblane in Arkansas City, KS. Douglas moved with his family to McIntosh County and graduated Eufaula High School in 1975, joined the United States Marines and served for 21 years. Douglas served as a medical manager for the doctors in Checotah and retired from the V.A. in Human Resources. On Friday, December 14, 2007 he married the love of his life, Rebecca Horn in Arkansas. He enjoyed farming, fishing and boating on Lake Eufaula. Douglas liked to read John Grisham novels and he loved to study history. Douglas was preceded in death by his two sons, Clayton Eugene Killblane of Phoenix, AZ and Paul Joseph “PJ” Killblane of Checotah and a brother, Donald Eugene Killblane. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Rebecca of the home; children, Douglas Daniel Killblane of Checotah; daughters Brennah Meggan Killblane of Phoenix,AZ; Ashley Alley and Tamara Horn both of Morris; grandchildren, Clayton Oliver Killblane; Finley Killblane; Daxton Alley; Macie Alley; Ryder Welton; and Teygan Humphrey. Douglas is also survived by his dad, Wilbur Killblane and his wife Elaine of Arkansas City, KS; and his mother, Joyce (Bell) Lampe of Checotah; brothers, Richard Eldon Killblane and Wilbur H. Killblane Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and a host of friends. Graveside services for Doug will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Reverend Rudy Harris officiating. Military Honors conducted by the United States Marines Honor Guard. Interment will follow under the personal direction of John Garrett.
