Dennis Eugene “Denny” Moore


Dennis Eugene “Denny” Moore, 58 of Webbers Falls, passed away Monday evening at his home after a lengthy illness. Dennis was born March 22, 1955 in Canton, Ohio to Arthur Ray and Faye (Carter) Moore. He grew up and attended public schools in Ohio. After high school, he began working as a steel mill worker for Republic Steel in Canton, Ohio, until 1980. He came to Oklahoma in the early 1980’s and worked for his brother-in-law, Dale Shanks, for many years. After his mother’s death, Dennis moved back to Ohio. In 2003, Dennis married Kathy Bullock on March 22 in Carrollton, Ohio. He became disabled in 2006 with emphysema. Dennis, Kathy, and Andrew settled in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma in October 2007.

Dennis loved making children and lonely people laugh. He also loved to go fishing. When his children were younger he would gather them and their friends up and take them all fishing. Dennis was a former member of the Carrollton Eagle Club and the VFW in Carrollton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Debbie Shanks Baker.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; sons, Andrew Moore of the home, Denver Scott Moore of Carrollton, Ohio; daughters, Wendy Fairbairn of Louisville, Ohio, Sarah Faye Moore of Malvern, Ohio; stepdaughters, Mary Graves of Henderson, Nevada, Angela Barnett of Barberton, Ohio; brothers, Harold Moore, Steve Moore, and Jeff Moore, all of Ohio; sisters, Sherry Moore Chavez of Illinois; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including Misty Shanks of Webbers Falls; special friends he considered his brothers and sisters, Dale and Hannah Shanks, Buck and Jackie Shanks, all of Webbers Falls.

A family conducted memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the home of Dale and Hannah Shanks in Webbers Falls with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating.  

Cremation services were provided by Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York St., Muskogee, OK.  Condolences may be made to the family online at
