Barbara Williams

1939-2013

Barbara Williams, 74, passed away Monday October 28, 2013 at her home with family by her side. Barbara was born on April 26, 1939 in Lenna OK to Melva “Mutt” Arlin McGuire and Jesse Viola (Jones) McGuire. She moved to Muskogee after graduating from Stidham High School. She met John Williams while working at Kress’s. They later married on September 6, 1958. She spent all of her life caring for others until her health began to fail. She was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Muskogee. She later became a member of Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church, where her son-in-law is pastor. She was a woman full of love for her God, Family and Church. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband John R. Williams, her parents, Melva “Mutt” and Jesse McGuire, a brother, Clarence ”Bud” McGuire. She is survived by four daughters Jaushlyn and husband Danny Hoover of Muskogee, Barbara Renee and husband Robert “Bob” Butler of Muskogee, Vanessa Joy Williams of Muskogee, Valarie Jane and husband James Taylor of Oktaha: one sister Agnes Morris, 4 brothers Floyd, Earl, John and Glen McGuire. 21 grandchildren  Erin, Deren, Michael, Brian, Azucena, Lauren, Dustin, Janessa, Robert, Russell, Hali, Glenn, Chansi, Faith, Gus, Jesse, Eric, Jenifer, James, Blake, and Chris. 16 Great grandchildren. Numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Services will held on Friday November 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church with Brother James Taylor officiating, burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons; Deren Allen, Michael Allen, Russell Allen, Glenn Allen, Brian Butler, Gus Daniels, Robert Moore, and Dustin Kirk.

Honorary Pallbearers are brothers Floyd, Earl, John, Glen McGuire and Ray Ford.
