Viola “Jackie” Burwell Emmons

1939-2013

— Jackie Emmons, 74, passed away on Saturday July 6, 2013 in Muskogee. She was born on January 21, 1939 in Okay to Lee and Roxy (McIntire) Burwell.

Jackie attended schools in Okay and also attended Draughon’s Business College. She worked for many years at Egan Manufacturing and Spot Not Car Wash. Her final job before retiring was as a personal care aide. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, and her favorite pastime was shopping.

Jackie is survived by her husband Ronald; two daughters, Cathy Scroggins and husband Terry of Muskogee, Tammye Avant and husband Gary of Oktaha; granddaughters Stacey Hodson and husband John of Edmond, Jamie Prince and husband Randy of Oktaha; grandsons Sean Scroggins of Muskogee, Clint Avant and wife Donica of Oktaha; great grandsons, Ethan, Carter Hodson, and Axel Avant; great granddaughters, Rebecca, Kailyn Spencer and Shawna Prince; brother, Charlie Burwell and wife Jo; many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bobby and Sherman Burwell; two sisters, Annabelle Hartzog and Betty Green. She is also survived by her beloved dog Biscuit.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay. Reverend Robert Bryan will officiate.

The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral and Cremation Service with the arrangements.
