Foster Eugene “Gene” Talley was born May 19, 1942 in Muskogee, OK. After a four year battle with cancer, he went to his heavenly home on November 29, 2012 at the age of 70.
Foster was born to Henry and Carmen Talley and was the youngest of six children with two brothers, Harold Ray and Robert Talley; and three sisters, Maudie Potts, Wanda Morris, and Mable McBee.
In 1961 he married Lanette Stone of Webbers Falls. Foster made a living through their early marriage years as a newspaper delivery man, butcher, and mechanic; although he didn’t finish high school, he was always able to teach himself anything, and found work he loved when he began building and repairing computers, the career he retired from.
Foster and Lanette had three children: Mike, Fran, and Pam. Fran passed away as an infant. Mike and his wife, Sara, have two children, Carson and Paige. Pam and her husband, Don, have three children, Caleb, Ethan, and Emily. Foster’s grandchildren were among his greatest joys, and he was so proud of them all. Foster was also a good friend to many and always willing to help one in need. He liked nothing better than an evening of playing marble and card games with friends while teasing about winning.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Warner Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Clarehouse Hospice, 7617 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, OK, 74133.
