Herman Glenn Miller was born December 3, 1938 to Reacy and Bonnie Miller in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on January 16, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his family by his side.
Herman graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1957. During his school years, he excelled in sports with baseball being his passion. He continued his education at Northeastern A & M College (NSU) in Tahlequah graduating with a degree in Business. Upon graduation, Herman began his career with Oklahoma Gas and Electric working his way to Electric Service Foreman. After a successful career with OG&E, he started a second career with his brother, V. David, working for Cross Communications in Warner. Here he served as the Service Manager overseeing the line installation and repair crews. Herman retired from Cross to began his most important role, full time Grandpa. He was always there supporting his grandkids attending dance recitals and sporting events all over the region. His grandkids were the light of his life, his entire world.
Preceding Herman in death were his father and mother, Reacy and Bonnie Miller; mother and father-in-law, DF and Orene Love; sister, Billie Jo Hisaw; and brother, Jim Miller. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann Miller (Love) of the home; daughters, Amanda Murphy and husband, Danny, Melissa O’Dell and husband, Kyle, all of Muskogee; grandkids, Danielle Elizabeth Murphy, Bradan Miller O’Dell, and Andrew Miller O’Dell all of Muskogee; brothers, V David Miller and wife, Billielynn, of Muskogee, Stanley Miller and wife, Pam, of Arlington, TX; niece, Madeline Teague and husband, Pat, of Vian, OK; sister-in-law, Susan Kay Kinney of Muskogee; special companion, Reggie; and numerous relatives and close friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 21, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Muskogee, OK, under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Kemper officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Pallbearers are Danny Overland, Gene Baldwin, V. David Miller II, Ryan Overland, Matthew Overland, Jacob Baldwin, and Corbin Baldwin.
