Doris N. Camden, 66, Muskogee resident died on Monday January 28, 2013. A native of Prairie Grove, Arkansas she was born on November 24, 1946 to Ishmel and Mary (Hiner) McCauley. Doris grew up in the area and in Fayetteville where she met and later married Aubrey Camden. Together they raised their family for a time in Kenwood, OK and later moved to Muskogee. For the last 22 years Doris lived in Muskogee and was an active member of God’s Powerhouse Church. Doris was very active at church and sang with gospel groups that included her sister and late husband. “Heaven’s Gates” was the name of their group. She was an ordained minister and while the kids were at home, Doris made their home a church.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband Aubrey; son, Matthew Jenkins; sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Ollie Jean Jenkins; great grandchild Avery Guthrie and nephew Trapper Hayes. She is survived by her sons Clenten Camden, Charles Whitmore and Roger Jenkins and his wife Kendra; daughter Audrey Ofield; son Jake Camden; daughter in law Shawn Jenkins; 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother Johnny McCauley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday February 4, 2013 at God’s Powerhouse Church with Pastor Charley Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
