Alberto Nunez

1976 - 2013

— Alberto Nunez, age 36, beloved son of Sabino and Otilia, loving husband of Elizabeth Karen Nunez, and caring father to Raul, Evelyn, David, Grace, and Elijah, was born in Juarez Mexico on June 9, 1976.  He passed away on March 4, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Alberto came to the United States in 1978.  It was love at first sight and he married Elizabeth Karen Todd on January 24, 2000 at the El Paso County Courthouse in Colorado Springs, CO, after dating for only six weeks.  Alberto worked in the construction field from the age of 16 and was a lay pastor for the Church of God 7th Day.  He also worked in the petroleum industry for the last two years doing leak sealant repair.  Alberto enjoyed soccer, chess, fishing, camping with his family, and target practice with friends.   

Alberto is survived by his wife; children; parents; grandmother, Leonor Porras; brother, Francisco; sisters Miriam, Cristina, Gabriella, Violet Ortiz, and other uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The family requests memorials be made to the Orphans and Widows Ministry Missions Abroad, PO Box 33677, Denver, CO, 80233-0677.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Alberto will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Believers Christian Fellowship, 820 E. Okmulgee Ave., Muskogee, with Pastor Ruben Marquez officiating.  Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Hastey Family Cemetery in Henryetta, OK. with Francisco Nunez, Raul Alberto Nunez, Ruben Marquez II, Gerson Gonzales, Juan Guevara, and Jim Shockley serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Martinez, Stacy Tipton, and Emmett Gordon.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
