THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Take time to call mayor and ask about concerns

May 21, 2008 05:40 pm

This is a letter in response to the May 18 letter to the editor from Stephen D’Agnostino.
His letter indicates that he fears that Mayor John Tyler Hammons will fail and embarrass Muskogee.
I disagree. Hammons had pledged to work hard for every citizen in Muskogee. Hammons knows that some citizens have their concerns about his ability to lead.
D’Agnostino took time to consider his feelings, compose, then forward his letter to the editor. He is obviously a concerned citizen. I hope that D’Agnostino will contact the mayor's office and voice his concerns.
I know Hammons will look forward to working and talking to him about what is needed to help drive a successful path for Muskogee. This is one of the principles he campaigned about, and under his administration, he will work with everybody in the council, the city manager, and each and every citizen in Muskogee.
It will take everyone working together to make this possible. He welcomes concerned, committed, energetic/willing to work citizens to help brighten Muskogee’s future.
