Flex your freedom through ballot

The campaign season for Muskogee municipal elections has begun. Four ward seats are up for consideration.

Get out and meet the candidates. Attend forums. Read candidate interviews.

Be involved.

Learn as much as you can about the candidates for City Council from your ward. Consider the issues, decide who is the best candidate on those issues you think are most important.

Make your decision, then vote. Get out and cast your ballot. This is a historic city election, the first one to feature ward voting.

Today is the final day to register to vote in the Jan. 14 election. This is your chance. If you haven’t registered, get going.

Nowhere is the power of the ballot more evident than in city elections. Flex your freedom muscle.

Key dates

Jan. 8: Absentee ballot application deadline.

Jan. 9-10: In-person absentee voting.

Jan. 14: General election.

March 4: Runoff election if required.
