THE PEOPLE SPEAK – Judge not, lest ye be judged

— The letter published in the Wednesday, Dec. 18, Phoenix is a disgrace to all the historical figures mentioned by that writer.

Has the editorial staff forgotten their established guidelines regarding publication of such letters? In brief:

“Letters addressing public issues take priority. They will be edited, if necessary, for style, accuracy and space limitations, and contributors may appear only once every 30 days.”

How can this writer’s denigration of Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela possibly be accurate, much less a public issue?

Dear writer, did the editorial staff’s 350-word restriction for these letters limit you, again, in your completely unfounded diatribe?  Why not include Dwight D. Eisenhower or Bill Clinton? Or Adolf Hitler or Ayatollah Khomeini?

I shudder to imagine walking a mile in the writer’s shoes for extreme fear of retaining my own sanity.  Judge not, lest ye be judged, bubba.
