THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Let’s give Muskogee players some credit

It is a Friday night tradition in any town to watch high school football and to cheer on the hometown team. As a team and a spectator, it is always hard to take a loss and it’s an absolute shame when you open the newspaper and read nothing but negative comments spewing out of the coach’s mouth on more than one occasion, about his own team.

Let’s give these guys some credit. They have dedicated their entire summer attending Summer Pride and every day of the season working to improve their game. After the last two seasons and the current one, I am left to wonder if all the responsibility should rest at their feet. They can only do what they are taught by their head coach. Attitudes and team ability reflect leadership. Maybe MPS should have hired a new football coach instead of a wrestling coach.
