THE PEOPLE SPEAK — It costs too much to live in Muskogee

This letter is in response to Betty Ross 5-20-13 opinion, complaining how ugly things look around town. I totally agree and have a solution!

Contact the Muskogee city council about this and they will all agree to slap a rate hike on a service we are all paying too much on already!

That way they will get some more money out of our already deprived pockets and can send some people down to the poor old outdated post office and clean and fix it up since the post office is broke. They like sitting around their council chambers and thinking up a way to pull more money out of the taxpayers pockets.

It’s not funny how much the cost of living has gone up here lately and I know the city has a lot of money in savings that’s just sitting there and waiting for someone to turn their head and grab it.

Taxes are too high here to live and I don’t know how some folks are making it. You can’t go out to eat, buy groceries or clothes without some businesses trying to rip you off. Waitresses short changing you at the register, and writing themselves a tip on a debit card receipt.

Gasoline is higher here than in California recently. Did you know you can’t buy a decent tank of gas here, because it’s either 10 percent ethanol or watered-down no ethanol, I know that for a fact! So no good MPG here anymore. Also the gas is overpriced more than what they are supposed to be selling it for too. Hey Corp. Comm. where are you?

Some of you won’t believe this and it’s going to make some people mad but it’s the truth. Sorry about that.
