THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Service speaks highly of Muskogee

We attended an event in Tahlequah last weekend. Without going into details we had a severe tire problem late Friday evening and had to have a tire replaced early Saturday to get back to Edmond for a function.

We were able to drive to Muskogee and at 7 a.m. an employee at O’Reilly’s parts store referred us to King Tires on West Shawnee.  They were to open at 8 a.m. We had a nice breakfast at Jimmy’s Egg and arrived at King’s at 7:40. They were already open.

I explained my dilemma. They found a used tire that would at least get us back to Edmond. Since I was at their mercy, and driving a Lexus, I, quite frankly, expected to be taken advantage of to some degree.  To our complete amazement the total charge for the tire, replacement and tax was $38.21. And we were on the road at 8:10.

What a pleasant experience.

Such an experience not only speaks well of the good folks at King Tires, it also says a lot about the attitude of the citizens and businesses of Muskogee.

Pleasant memories.
