THE PEOPLE SPEAK – Consider strong mayor, council government

The Phoenix wrote in the paper that the city manger will cost the people of Muskogee $100,000 plus to remove him from office. Well, just think of the money we’ll save in the future. The city now needs to think and not jump into the fire again.

The question is: hire a new manager that has Muskogee future in mine, or think about a strong mayor for the city with a strong council member board. Write it in the way that all benefit from this change. You can only have a win if everyone is on board.

Just think of the possibility you have at this time. Let’s begin to be a smart city and show the rest we can grow and be as big, like other cities have done. We were the No. 3 largest city at one time; we can do it again. Please plan and agree on one thing the city comes first not your power.
