EVERY SUCCESSFUL event is a team effort. The 2014 Garden Club Tour was yet another great example. I personally want to thank Nancy Gassaway for her support with volunteers and Jan Ward for her help recruiting our featured gardens, and all the other Garden Club members who so willingly gave up their Saturday to participate in our showcase of Muskogee gardens event.
Thank you to everyone who came to experience the beautiful efforts of the true stars: the people who toiled to make their home gardens so inviting. A personal thanks to David and JoAnn Clark, whose unusual rock treatments in front and around their home were intriguingly mingled with plantings. Larry and Nancy Hoffman's koi pond was a hit not only because of the waterfall, but because of the number of baby fish, a testimony to the happy, healthy environment in a well-tended garden. Thanks to Randy and Leslie Scott for the demonstration of a total renewal for a mid-century home’s landscaping, creating a beautiful, new outdoor oasis. Harvey and Kay Price are show-stopper gardeners whose endless efforts at cultivation, colorful plantings and even fabulous Christmas decor make it a highlight for the whole community, worth driving by at any time of year. The Muskogee Garden Club thanks each of these homeowners for their generous offer to be a featured home and their efforts on our behalf.
