THANK YOU 01.31.14

— THE FORT Gibson Athletic Department would like to thank all of you who helped make the 2014 Old Fort Days Classic a great success. This was the 40th year for the tournament. We have so many wonderful sponsors who help us that there are too many to name! We also have numerous individuals who work with us to ensure that the tournament week is a repeated success. I would like to say, “Thank you,” from Fort Gibson Public Schools and the Fort Gibson Athletic Department. Your continued support is appreciated. We are looking forward to next year’s event.

THE COMMUNITY Team of Building Bridges for the Future of Muskogee, a grantee of the City of Muskogee Foundation, would like to extend its thanks to the following Muskogee churches, individuals and organizations who provided meals for Getting Ahead community investigators, their families, child care staff and community volunteers from August 2013 through January 2014.

St. Paul United Methodist Church, Muskogee Wellness Initiative, First Presbyterian Church, Faith Based Therapeutic Community Corporation, Christian Women's Job Corps, Youth Volunteer Corps, Soroptimist International of Muskogee, Getting Ahead, Muskogee Non-Profit Resource Center, Paul Flaherty of Vallourec-Muskogee, The City of Muskogee Foundation, and Rayfield Baptist Church.

The goal of this initiative is to help families investigate roots causes of poverty and make plans to move their families out of poverty situations. We need meals provided by community organizations as the program continues. For more information or to secure a date to provide a meal, contact: Johni Wardwell (918) 360-0803

WE WISH to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to Agent Funeral Home, Pastor Rennie and Patty Ohl of Church on the Word for ministering to our family before, during and after the untimely death of our daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend DeAnna Gay Thomas of Gore and for the beautiful memorial service.

Thanks also to Howell Ferguson and members for use of White Chapel Church for DeAnna’s service, Larry Carter of the White Chapel Cemetery Association, Lake Road Church of Christ for use of the Fellowship Hall for our family dinner, especially Raymond and Ruby Pigeon and Euial Carter, and to all friends and relatives who prepared and served the family dinner. Many of DeAnna’s family live out of town and could not have presented such a moving and deserved tribute to her without the help of all mentioned.
