ON BEHALF of the Coins 4 Critters board, I wish to thank the public for the generous support to our resale shop. Due to a lack of volunteers, we are closing the shop on Jan. 20 at 3619 W. Broadway. The community donations and patronage assisted us with the adoptions of many cats. It also helped us raise funds to support the pets we have in foster care as well as the expense of food, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and associated medical needs.

We greatly appreciate the countless hours of volunteer service given by Rose and Eddie Hutton for operating the shop and care for the cats. We will gladly continue to accept donated items, other than electronics and large furniture, for our participation with the city yardsale and our annual bean supper fundraiser. You may contact us at Coins4Critters.org.

THE COMMUNITY Team of the Community Circles initiative sponsored by the City of Muskogee Foundation would like to extend its thanks to the following community churches and organizations who have provided a simple meal for over 50 community investigators, their families, child care staff and community volunteers during November and December. We appreciate your support!

The Getting Ahead Initiative, Timothy Baptist Church, Muskogee Youth Volunteer Corps, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, The Muskogee Chapter of the NAACP.

The goal of this initiative is to help families investigate roots causes of poverty and make plans of how to move their families out of poverty situations. We still need meals from community organizations for weekly meals January through May 2013. For more information or to secure a date to provide a meal, contact: Johni Wardwell (918) 360-0803 or Jan Wilkerson (918) 680-0519.
