THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Nation won’t be lost with return to God

Liberty Counsel produced a DVD, “Silence Is Not an Option,” for citizens in the pulpit and in the pew to enable the viewer to consider getting involved in the political process of restoring our nation to its Creator’s  intended purpose.  The enemies of true freedom have deliberately, gradually and effectively undermined the foundations on which our society and its principles are based so America is hanging by a thread for its survival. This nation will be lost if its citizens do not return to God.  Not since the American Revolution has it been more important that clergy fully engage the political and cultural issues of the day. It is so important to educate, equip and encourage pastors to provide divinely  empowered leadership to American’s Christians.

Jerry Falwell in 1980 said, “What is wrong with America today? We preachers — more than 340,000 of us who pastor churches hold this nation's survival and direction in our hands.  Every pastor, preacher, is going to be accountable to God if we fail to take a stand and be counted for promoting truth and morality!” The Founders believed that Religion and Morality were twin pillars on which  America was built. By 'religion' they meant  faith  that arose from a Judeo-Christian worldview.  Adams said, “Our Constitution is made only for a moral and a religious people…” and Washington added, “Anyone who undermines these twin pillars is not a patriot.”   Many contemporary patriots agree with the Founders and reiterate that Christianity is the single foundation upon which American public morality was based thus  leading to the formation of our republic  form of government.

Pastors and those in the pew are in a spiritual  battlefield  for the hearts and minds of our citizens. All of us must count the personal  cost for reclaiming the ground lost to liberal, progressive intent on  transforming this God-birthed nation into one of  a secular-socialist state on American soil. With God's help, the victory of reclaiming this nation for Christ can be done.
