THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Bull riding event great, but where was story?

If you did not attend the bull riding event at the Muskogee Civic Center on Jan. 24 and 25, you missed a great time.

Our local firefighters sent out one of their very own men to ride a bull in hopes of raising money for Kid’s Space. And raise money they did!

At the Friday night event, $1 from every ticket sold went to Kid’s Space. A check was presented to the Muskogee Fire Department for $1,146, all of which went to Kid’s Space.

This event featured our local fire department, promoted the use of our Civic Center and raised money for a great local charity (not to mention the business it brought to our hotels, restaurants, etc.)

We saw the Muskogee Phoenix photographers there taking pictures. I’m sorry there was no article in the newspaper about this event which featured some of our local heroes, promoted the beautiful Civic Center, and raised money for this worthy charity.
